Wine specsWinemaking
The grapes used to make this wine were hand-harvested from 30-year-old vines of the Tinto Fino grape variety. This is the famous Tempranillo clone that has evolved in Ribera del Duero to give us this wine of exceptional quality. Fermentation lasted 7 to 9 days at 26-28ºC after a cold pre-fermentation maceration of 3-5 days. It was aged in oak barrels for more than 30 months.
Harvest details
The 2014 harvest was officially classified as Very Good by Ribera del Duero’s governing body.
Wine specsTasting notes
This is a wine of rare elegance. The primary fruit aromas have evolved into a bouquet typical of mature Tempranillo, redolent of violets. The years have tamed the tannins, giving this wine a smooth mouthfeel and a finish that echoes the stony gravel of its plot in the vineyard that surrounds the winery.
Food pairings
This wine is a perfect complement to traditional Spanish cuisine, such as slow-roasted suckling lamb, paella and the finest mature cheeses such as manchego.
